Is it really cheaper to travel with a butler on Ryanair?
PA
We all know that the cost of a flight on a budget airline can end up costing more than expected.
But according to The Sun, it's now cheaper to take a butler with you than to pay to check in your baggage.
Research by Whichairline.com indicates that it costs less to simply buy an extra ticket on a budget airline rather than paying £15 each way to check in a standard 15kg bag.
Given that a Ryanair flight from Stansted to Maastricht Holland, costs £9.99 each way, it costs £10 less in total to pay for additional return ticket, rather than paying £30 to check your bag.
So the newspaper sent one of their reporters, along with his 'manservant', on a Ryanair flight - to prove that it's best to travel with a butler.
Obviously, the average traveller doesn't have - or couldn't afford - a butler. But, jokes aside, The Telegraph reports that travellers can save money by booking well in advance and taking a friend so that you can share your carry-on luggage allowance. This is because the price of a flight varies according to demand, but baggage prices are fixed.
