Starbucks is cutting paid lunch breaks, paid sick leave, and a host of other benefits for British employees (known as partners). Around 7,000 baristas and other staff have been asked to sign new contracts, which removes their right to all sorts of things from sick pay on the first day they are off, to a bonus for being Partner of the Year.

So why is it doing this, and will we see more of this sort of thing in the coming months?
