Downton Abbey boost for butlers: demand doubles

Settling down to watch Downton Abbey for most is a chance to dip into another world, where a fleet of staff and an able butler help ease the charmed lives of the gentry of yesteryear. However, while most of us spend the episode idly dreaming of another world, there are those who take one look and think, 'of course I really ought to get myself a butler'.

A specialist recruitment agency says that demand for British Butlers has more than doubled in the two years since the series began.
