'Concerns' over Credit timetable

The Government is being urged by a committee of MPs to look again at its "ambitious" timetable for the implementation of Universal Credit, amid concerns that the reforms could place vulnerable benefit claimants at risk of debt and hardship.


The Work and Pensions Committee said "significant further work" should be carried out before pilots for the key new part of the Government's welfare reform programme begin in the North West of England next spring and the full roll-out takes place next October.
