Investors warned of fraud risk

A UK-wide campaign has been launched to warn investors that they risk falling victim to thousands or even millions of pounds worth of fraud if they fail to properly check the credentials of the person they are investing with.

About £1.2 billion is lost to investment fraud every year, according to national fraud and internet crime reporting centre Action Fraud, which is leading the campaign.
