Hand back pensioner benefits - says IDS

Iain Duncan Smith has pointed out that universal benefits for better-off pensioners are an 'anomaly' in the system. On the BBC's Andrew Marr Show he revealed that he was uncomfortable with benefits for wealthy pensioners.

He accepted that David Cameron needed to keep his promise made during the election campaign - that they wouldn't be withdrawn - but has said that he thinks richer pensioners ought to consider handing them back.
