British holiday rep fighting for life after Gran Canaria balcony fall

A Thomas Cook holiday rep is fighting for is life in hospital after falling from a balcony in Gran Canaria.
Lian Connis, 31, is thought to have locked himself out of his apartment before attempting to climb in.
He was found unconscious outside the building in the Puerto Rico resort.
It is not confirmed how far Lian fell, but the impact caused serious head injuries, a fractured pelvis, broken leg, and punctured lung.
His parents Lyn and Chris were initially told he had been reported missing, but have now flown out to be by hs bedside as he lies in an induced coma.
His sister, Lauren, 21, told The Sun: "Obviously we were relieved that he had been found and that he was alive, but at the same time we are worried sick about him because he's in intensive care.
"We just want him to recover and to be safe. We are all praying that everything is going to be all right."
She added that the last time he spoke to the family, it was to tell them he had been awarded holiday rep of the month.
Lauren added: "Lian absolutely loves his job. He was unemployed before he joined Thomas Cook and this job was the best thing that's ever happened to him.
A spokesman for Thomas Cook UK and Ireland said: "Lian Connis is a valued member of our Gran Canaria resort team.
"We're giving our full support to him, his family and colleagues while he is in hospital. We wish him the speediest of recoveries."
The news comes just two days after it was reported that a British father-of-six is fighting for his life in a Tunisian hospital after falling two floors from his hotel balcony while on a family holiday.
Karl Nethercot, 35, had been enjoying a drink on the balcony on the holiday with fiancée Emma Huszarik and their two children, aged seven months and 20 months, when he fell the two floors from their apartment to the ground.
He is now in hospital in Port El Kantaoui with severe head and chest injuries, and the family have had to launch an appeal to raise the £20,000 needed to get him back to the UK.
And, last week, a man on a family holiday in the resort of Ciutadella, Menorca, became the sixth Briton to die in a hotel fall in Spain's Balearic Islands this summer.
Paul Clough, 41, died in hospital from the injuries he sustained after falling from his third-floor hotel room.
