A tourist boat has sunk off the coast of Thailand near the popular seaside resort of Pattaya.

The two-engine speed boat was travelling from Koh Larn to Pattaya when it sank about 100m from the shore.

Rescuers from nearby boats saved all 27 people on board, although two were injured and taken to a hospital in Pattaya. Most of the passengers were tourists from South Korea.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. According to police reports, the boat started to sink shortly after it had left a pier in Pattaya.

It is one of a number of recent similar accidents in Thailand. In August, a speedboat carrying dozens of holidaymakers near the popular resort island f Koh Phi Phi sank in rough seas.
