Call to continue NHS pay freeze

If the NHS pay freeze is not extended for a third year then patients' quality of care could suffer, the body representing NHS employers is expected to say.

The NHS Employers will recommend that the public-sector pay freeze for health service workers should be extended for a further year, the Health Service Journal (HSJ) reported. But union leaders have expressed anger at the recommendation, saying it is a blow to the morale of staff.
