Anyone want to hire an entire beach in Devon?
Teignbridge District Council
Fancy a party? For the first time in the UK, it's possible to rent out an entire beach from a council.
Ness Cove in Shaldon, on the south Devon coast, has become the first in Britain to become available to rent exclusively.
The secluded beach, which is only accessible via a smugglers' tunnel, is available for free - but there is a ban on loud music, and stringent rules are set out for the hire.
Barbecues and fires are also banned.
But that doesn't mean you can't have a good time. This is one of the prettiest beaches in the area, and it's perfect for special occasions.
According to Teignbridge District Council, these have already included a marriage blessing against the backdrop of Ness Headland. Caribbean-style. Could Devon become the next Barbados?
