This incredible video shows how an adventurer has fulfilled a lifetime ambition - by lowering himself inside a seething crater of an active volcano, standing just 30 yards away from the 1150C churning lava.
This video shows New Zealander Geoff Mackley looking into the gushing lava of the Marum volcano on the South Pacific island of Ambryn.
His journey began with a trek to the mountain and then a 400m abseil down the sheer cliff to reach the "Devil's cauldron".
Mount Marum is one of 1500 active volcanoes in the world.
The 46-year-old photographer said: "It looks like the surface of the sun. It's like my wildest dreams all in one moment. It's the most amazing thing I've ever seen or done."
