Steve Irwin's son is obviously following in his famous dad's footsteps - and is already handling the crocodiles at Australia Zoo in Queensland.

Eight-year-old Robert looked like Steve's mini me sporting a similar blonde mane and khaki ensemble as got up close and personal with the toothy animal.

Steve, known as TV's Crocodile Hunter, introduced Robert to his beloved crocs when he was just a one-month-old baby, holding him in one arm while he fed a 13ft saltwater crocodile with the other.

Rex

He was just 44 when he was killed by a stingray as he swam off the coast of Australia in 2006.

He died after being pierced in the chest by the stingray barb while filming an underwater documentary entitled Ocean's Deadliest.

Steve Irwin and his wife Terri described themselves as "hard-core conservationists, environmentalists and naturalists", and it looks like little Robert is set to continue his dad's conservation legacy.
