The completed designs of the Olympic Park in Rio have just been released, including the first pictures of how it will look. SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO.

The 300 acre park, in Barra da Tijuca, will be built on Rio's Grand Prix track, which spreads over 300 acres into the lagoon.

Designed by London-based Studio Aecom, the same architects who designed the London Olympic Park, the project is expected to cost more than £9 billion.

Fifteen sports will be hosted in 34 venues here, including swimming and hockey, but the official Olympic stadium, which will host the athletics and the opening and closing ceremonies, will be Rio's famous football venue, the Maracana.

Building work has already begun, and several venue are already in place after hosting the Pan American Games in 2011.
