Avon's Anew Clinical Pro Line Corrector Treatment cream contains the ingredient A-F33 - a modified protein discovered by US scientists - and it is claimed to boost production of collagen and elastin in the skin.

Of the 69 women, aged between 35 and 59, who tested the product twice a day for 11 weeks, all said their wrinkles were reduced, and their skin was noticeably improved within just seven days. Some even decided against a surgical solution to the ageing problem.

It seems even dermatologists have been impressed by the results. According to the Daily Mail, experts used a 3D imaging camera to see how the skin responded to the latest 'miracle' cream, and found that the outer layer, or epidermis, was thicker after regular application. Other tests suggested skin cells actually produced more collagen and elastin after treatment.

Cosmetic dermatologist Samantha Bunting told the paper that A-F33 could be "one of the most exciting breakthroughs I've seen in recent years".

And Anthony Gonzalez, from Avon's research and development department, said: "A-F33 is potentially as game changing in the fight against wrinkles as alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs) and Retinol were in the 1990s."

Best of all, the latest weapon in the battle against fine lines and wrinkles, which goes on sale online on Friday, costs just £30... which may be why 60,000 women have already reportedly put their name on the waiting list.
