Food-lover? You'd better pack your suitcase and jet off to San Sebastian in northern Spain, as it's just been named the best gastronomic destination in the world.

Which? magazine got a panel of travel writers and food critics to rate foodie hotspots all over the globe, and top marks went to San Sebastian, Tokyo, and Sydney.

Paris, New York and Hong Kong also featured in the top ten, but it was San Sebastian's "astonishing food scene" that stole the show, according to the Daily Mail.

Destinations were given points in 30 categories, including the quality and range of food, the gastronomic culture, local markets, and the general appeal of the location as a holiday resort.

The breadth of difference price points was also taken on board, from Michelin-starred restaurants to budget offerings serving local food.

There are a whopping three restaurants with three Michelin stars in San Sebastian - Arzak, Martin Berasategui, Akelare - but, if you are looking for something cheaper, head to one of the many famous Basque pintxos bars, serving local delights in tapas form.
