Parents hand out sweets on flight to apologise in case twin babies are noisy

Travelling with children can be a stressful experience - especially if fellow-passengers don't respond well to a crying baby or a toddler tantrum. And many travellers dread sitting near to an unhappy child on a flight.
Which is probably why parents travelling with their 14-week-old twin boys decided to play it safe by handing out goodie bags containing sweets and a note of apology to their fellow passengers.
One appreciative passenger posted an image of the goodie bag on Reddit, along with the note which read: "We're twin baby boys on our first flight and we're only 14 weeks old! We'll try to be on our best behaviour, but we'd like to apologise in advance just in case we lose our cool, get scared or our ears hurt.
"Our mom and dad (AKA our portable milk machine and our diaper changer) have ear plugs available if you need them. We are all sitting in 20E and 20F if you want to come by to get a pair. We hope you have a great flight."
The original post attracted lots of reader comments and, when asked how the babies had behaved themselves, the traveller said: "The parents were fantastic and the kids were better than would be expected. Mom was super nervous and obviously very tired, but still extremely nice to everyone around her. Not a mean or frustrated word from dad either."
While most passengers praised the couple for their thoughtful approach, others thought the goodie bag approach was a little over the top.
One poster said: "Really? You don't find this to be overkill? I don't require an apology for a crying baby on a plane. This is to be expected. I'm ok with it. People have babies, and they need to travel too."
Other posters were more concerned about how the couple managed to get all their sweeties through security.
