Friday saw the FTSE 100 index slip -0.14% to 5,711. By some margin, Glencore Int was the largest climber, up +7.72% while Eurasian Natural Resources saw the biggest drop, down -1.50%.

Overnight, Asian stocks remained mostly flat, despite worsening Chinese manufacturing data, with the Japanese Nikkei rising +0.04% and the Hang Seng up 0.40%.
