September heatwave starts tomorrow

September heatwave starts tomorrowPA

If you live in the south of England, you could be in for a month-long heatwave - and it's due to start tomorrow!

The Express reports that warm air will move in from the continent from tomorrow, which means that it will be dry and warm in the south, with temperatures reaching 29C - and it could stay that way throughout September. October and November are also expected to be warmer than usual.

However, there's likely to be heavy rain before the sun arrives - and it's unlikely that northern areas will see much sun at all.

Jonathan Powell, forecaster for Vantage Weather Services, told The Express: "We are looking at an extended spell of dry weather in the South with some good temperatures. It could bed in for the rest of September. There is a good chance we could at least see a decent stretch of summer."

Forecasters at the Met Office are taking a more cautious approach, but seem to be in agreement that the south is due for some good weather.

While heavy rain is expected in northern and central parts of the UK tomorrow, it should be drier and brighter in the south.

From Saturday onwards, it's likely to remain unsettled in the north, but it should be sunny and dry in southern areas.

The longterm forecasts indicates that September could be sunnier than average, with fine, dry weather in southern and southeastern areas.
