A Ryanair flight about to take-off for Faro from Cork airport was delayed for three hours on Friday after a baggage truck crashed into the plane.

Passengers were unharmed in the incident, but had to wait for three hours while a full inspection of the plane could be carried out.

According to independent.ie, airport officials eventually decided to ground the plane for precautionary reasons, and another aircraft was brought in for the journey.

The incident was reported to the Air Accident Investigation Unit, and the plane involved was then used on the London Stansted route on Saturday.
