British tourists have had their holidays ruined after a 'pervert' who harassed eight children was caught - but subsequently allowed to return to the hotel by the police.

A Ukrainian man in his 40s is alleged to have attacked eight boys at the three-star Pomorie Hotel in Bulgaria's Black Sea resort of Sunny Beach.

But, although holidaymakers reported him to the police, they only fined him for "hooliganism" and allowed him to return to the hotel, claiming there was not enough evidence for a court conviction.

According to the report in The Sun, one mother from Hull said her 15-year-old son was molested in the sea and then in a toilet by the man.

She said: "My husband wanted to kill him - but he vanished. Speaking to other families, it was clear he had been touching other boys in a similar way."

Another holidaymaker, Kirstie Simmons, told the paper: "When he came back to the hotel we ran him out. But he keeps showing up - it's ruining everyone's holiday. He should be sent to prison."

A British Embassy official has now arrived at the resort in an attempt to calm the holidaymakers and resolve the situation.

The hotel was unavailable for comment.

Another Sunny Beach resort hotel hit the headlines just last month after a British holidaymaker plunged to her death from a fourth floor balcony at the Poseidon Hotel.

Jacqueline McClafferty, 41, had been holidaying with her boyfriend when she plummeted from her balcony, being killed by head injuries upon impact.
