As the summer holiday season kicks off in earnest this weekend, we need to find a way to stretch our cash to last the season. Fortunately there are enough freebies and deals around to help our summer spending go a bit further.
This week we have free drinks and sports channels, savings on holiday essentials, and huge bargains for breaks away.
10% off at Boots
If you still have to stock up on sunscreen and first aid supplies for your break, then this deal might come in handy. Myvouchercodes
is offering 10% off all orders over £65 at Boots. Unfortunately you'll need to order fast, as the deal expires tomorrow.
Free drink at Pitcher and Piano
If you're willing to sign up for the email newsletter
(and you can always unsubscribe later) then you will be emailed a voucher for a free vodka and still lemonade, or bottle of sol. You can also get a voucher for a glass of rose when you buy a ploughman's lunch. The voucher is valid until the end of July.
40% off Hotels
If you're not tied to summer holidays at the same time as the kids, you could take advantage of the Hilton Hotels sale on until 23 July. It is offering 40% off stays taken by the end of September. It includes The Waldorf from £158 and the Hilton Hyde Park from £115.
If you're a Sky or Virgin customer, you can get free sport this weekend. Since 6am this morning you will have been able to tune into channels you don't normally get without the sports package - and you can keep watching until just before midnight on Sunday. The highlights include the Formula 1 (in HD), cricket, golf, rugby union and (of course) the darts.
Camping for £1
If you buy the Sun any time between this Saturday and next Friday, by laying out 40p you will get your hands on a voucher to camp for £1. The deal runs through September and October, so you'll need to keep your fingers crossed for an Indian Summer, but September has been balmy for the last couple of years so it may be worth a try. You get one night for every voucher, so you'll have to buy two papers for a weekend away. There will be a full list of campsites taking part in the deal printed in Saturday's paper.
