The average person doesn't get their foot on the property ladder until they hit the age of 31, according to RightMove. That's a ripe old age to still be living with your parents, so the day the 'kids' finally fly the nest must be a huge relief all round.

However, empty nesters shouldn't be too quick to breathe a sigh of relief, because there's a 44% chance the kids haven't gone further than the end of the road. And a new report reveals that this may not be good for anyone.
