Youngest ever Jumbo jet pilot lands his first job

A boy who once dreamed of becoming an airline pilot has fulfilled his ambition at the tender age of 20 - and in doing so, he has become the world's youngest jumbo jet pilot.

Osian Gwyn Williams, from south Wales, obtained his private pilot's licence on his 17th birthday before he had even got his driving licence.

After gaining experience of glider flying with the Air Training Corps, he went on to work at Caernarfon Airport, Wales.

And less than a month after completing his official training, he landed a job with Air Atlanta Icelandic as a First Officer on the Boeing 747.

His flying career took off, as his proud father John told the Gwynned Daily Post: " Throughout training, Osian achieved outstanding results in every examination, and it was no surprise when he was offered employment by Air Atlanta."

Osian is due to take up his job very soon and will be flying Boeing 747s from Saudi Arabia to airports around the world.
