The new Greek election result failed to fire the FTSE 100 yesterday. It inched up just 12 points to 5,491 while the French Cac 40 fell -21 points and the Dow Jones slid -25 points to 12,741.

Overnight in Asia, doubts about Spanish debt resurfaced: all Asian markets saw numbers dip, with the Japanese Nikkei falling 0.8% and the Hong Kong Hang Seng drifting 0.5% lower.
