Online shop 'taxes' buyers using an old browser

An Australian online shop has introduced what it is calling a 'tax' for people using Internet Explorer 7 - an old version of the Microsoft browser. Anyone using the shop with the browser will be charged 6.8% on top of their purchase.

So why did they do it, and could this idea take off with other retailers?
