Hammersmith Apollo sold by HMV

Entertainment venue Hammersmith Apollo, which has been graced by bands from The Beatles to Queen, has been sold by owner HMV to an American-German joint venture.

HMV has agreed to sell the art deco venue, which opened in 1932 as the Gaumont Palace cinema, to Stage C for £32 million as part of a wider turnaround.
