The FTSE 100 managed to push 1.48% higher on Friday to 5,351 points helped by a 2.95% rise in Admiral Group shares and support for mining and oil stocks. However Lloyds Banking Group saw a -4.12% fall.

Overnight, better news from Asia with Hong Kong's Hang Seng up 0.3% while the Australian S&P/ASX 200 climbed 0.8% higher.
