WHSmith linked to Clinton stores

Hopes of a rescue for Clinton Cards have been lifted following reports of potential bid interest from rival firms WHSmith and Card Factory.

The ailing high street retailer, which employs more than 8,000 people, collapsed into administration on Wednesday after its biggest supplier American Greetings called in a £35 million debt.
