We do like to live beside the seaside - at all costs

In the last ten years, house prices have more than doubled in half of the seaside towns in England and Wales, according to Halifax. The average rise is 97% - making seaside towns more attractive than their surrounding counties by a long chalk.

So what are the attractions, and where are the hotpots?
