Job fears over Shop Direct shake-up

A leading home shopping retailer has announced plans to close two of its four call centres in response to "rapidly changing" consumer trends, sparking fears of job losses.

Shop Direct has started consultations on the closure of its Worcester and Preston sites, and said it is transferring 1,800 of its staff to services giant Serco, which will switch some of the work overseas.
