Two dogs named Bomber and Blitz miraculously escaped falling 70ft off a cliff while on a family holiday in Cornwall.

And they weren't they only lucky ones; they narrowly missed a pair of German tourists enjoying a picnic on the sand below.

Blitz, a two-year-old Border Collie, and Bomber, a springer spaniel, were enjoying walkies in Porthleven when Bomber bounded into Blitz - sending them both tumbling over a cliff.

Owner Clive Morley said he had his back turned when he heard a yelp, telling the Daily Mail: "I turned round and could only look down, my heart was in my throat.

"We saw that Bomber jumped up straight away and ran off. Blitz stayed there for a couple of seconds and then got up."

Clive's wife Sally said the German tourists who had scrambled out of the way were "totally shocked".

The dogs were taken to a nearby vet and, apart from a bit of shock, both were unhurt.

Vet Stuart Saunders said the story "serves as a cautionary tale for holidaymakers to be careful with their pets".
