The UK's formal re-entry into recession saw stocks broadly flatline yesterday. The FTSE 100 finished 9 points higher at 5,718. The biggest losers were Centrica, down -3.81%, and GlaxoSmithKline, down -3.02%.

Optimism was higher in Europe, with the French Cac 40 lifting more than 2% and German Dax rising 1.73%.
