1,000 JLR jobs - but 35,000 applications

New investment - 1,000 new jobs - from Jaguar Land Rover to build its new 'baby' Range Rover Evoque is welcome.

But those 1,000 new Halewood, Merseyside are being chased by up to 35,000 desperate job seekers, it's estimated. Why so many? Is this the reality of the UK manufacturing jobs market for many?
