Pick of the early market news

More debt nerves yesterday wore down on investors: the FTSE 100 lost -2.24% of its value with Vedanta Resources the biggest faller, down -6.48%. Barclays also slipped sharply, by -5.93%. Given the debt anxiety, gold player Randgold Resources rose +5.24%.

The worry saw the French Cac 40 lose more than -3% overall while the Dow Jones ended Tuesday-1.65% down.
