If you're ever at a boring dinner party and want to start a big of a debate, get people talking about properties (specifically the introduction of a tax on it).

An Englishman's home is his castle and one way to get him annoyed is to threaten to tax the bejesus out of it, which is exactly what the Lib Dems did in their 2010 manifesto.
