You choose the new Chancellor

With the Budget next week promising yet another misery update for the UK public, it seems only right that during times of hardship people flirt with some kind of suspension of disbelief. Movies, TV, a good read - escapism is the elixir for all ills, even when the masses tune into supposed reality shows which are in fact built on a warped fantasy (yes that means you, TOWIE fan!).

So let's imagine history can be changed and the public are allowed to choose a new Chancellor from fiction. Which fictional characters have the qualities to get the UK out of this mess? Or at least make the bitter pill taste a little sweeter...
