Weather boosts John Lewis sales

Retailers John Lewis and Waitrose saw sales surge last week as customers welcomed the spring weather by revamping their wardrobes and their diets.

The department store business had one of its best weeks in recent months, with revenues up 14.2% to £59.7 million in the seven days to last Saturday.
