The birth of an endangered western lowland gorilla is being celebrated at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park in Kent.

The adorable baby was born to mum, Mumba, and dad, Djala, on 26 February 2012.

It is the third baby for Mumba, and the fifteenth for Djala, who was brought to the zoo at six months old in 1986 after suffering trauma when he was rescued from the Congo after his family were killed by poachers.

According to the Little Hampton Gazette, The Aspinall Foundation's Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and its sister park, Howletts, near Canterbury, Kent, look after the largest group of western lowland gorillas in human care - and this new bundle - whose sex has not yet been identified - takes the number of successful births across both parks to 132.
