Geneva Motor Show: Morgan Plus 8
Those who still use the verb "motoring" to refer to the act of vigorously driving their car will be overjoyed to see a new Morgan Plus 8 gracing the halls of Geneva.
It's been about eight years since the 8 died, but now it's back, and it's better and beefier than ever.
Underneath the bright orange skin, resting atop a set of forged black alloys, is a BMW 4.8-litre V8, developing up to 390bhp depending on customer specification.
Available with either an automatic torque convertor gearbox (no fancy twin-clutch auto here) or a six-speed manual, the Plus 8 will dash to 62mph in 4.5 seconds and return around 25mpg. Thank you, BMW EfficientDynamics.
While it might not look like a luxury car (and it isn't), it comes with more trappings than you might expect, including a full leather upholstery and a fully lined cloth roof - whose acoustics Morgan is so sure of that it's fitted the car with a proper, high end stereo.
