Geneva Motor Show: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta
A few days after unveiling the first official images of the F12 Berlinetta, Ferrari has given its new flagship supercar a world debut in Geneva.
The 730bhp F12 is the fastest and most powerful road car Ferrari has ever produced, and replaces the 599 as the company's most expensive supercar on sale. It will cost around quarter of a million pounds when the first cars are finally delivered at the start of 2013.
Ferrari has already been showing the car to folk rich enough to buy one, and despite the price tag has taken hundreds of orders, according to reports.
The F12 Berlinetta cracks 62mph in 3.1 seconds, which is slightly slower than its less powerful chief rival, the Lamborghini Aventador - a one-off version of which has made a surprise appearance at Geneva, as it happens. The Ferrari will top 211mph before running out of breath.
Ferrari says that the F12 goes around its Fiorano test track quicker than any other mass-produced (in the sense that any Ferrari is mass produced) model it has ever made.
