Women hit hard by downturn - Labour

Women are bearing the brunt of the economic downturn with some missing meals to feed their children, Labour claimed.

Opposition spokeswoman Baroness Thornton said Government policies, coupled with the downturn, were having a "very detrimental effect" on women's lives.
