The public spending watchdog has cast doubt on the Government's planned savings on child maintenance administration - warning that further cuts may be necessary if its "high risk" approach went wrong.


The National Audit Office (NAO) said there was already a £44 million "shortfall" in the spending reductions the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission (CMEC) was expected to achieve by 2014/15.
