Insurer overcomes fraud impact

Annual profits have more than doubled at insurer LV= despite the continued impact of fraud on its business.

In the company's motor insurance division, the benefits of fewer car accidents, as rising petrol costs cause people to drive more carefully, was offset by an increase in personal injury claims and attempted fraud.
