Rise in homeowners taking in lodgers

New research from flat and house share website SpareRoom.co.uk has revealed a marked increase in the number of homeowners renting out rooms to make extra cash.

January 2012 saw the highest ever number cash-strapped families taking in lodgers as the post Christmas financial pinch hit.
