Pick of the early market news

Sharp falls yesterday for AstraZeneca (down -3.96%) and Anglo American (down -2.96%). The FTSE 100 finished business -7.71 points down at 5,892. News that unemployment continues to edge up did little for confidence.

Across the Channel, France threw a surprise with growth lifting 0.2% at the end of 2011 thanks to an upturn in exports.
