Consumer confidence 'on increase'
Consumer confidence rebounded last month in a sign that underlying economic conditions are not as weak as feared, mortgage provider Nationwide has said.
Nationwide said its consumer confidence index rose by nine points to 47 in January, although this is still nearly 30 points below its average.
