It seems we're not the only country going through a cold snap.

More than 200 boats have become frozen in the sea along China's eastern coast due to a bitter cold spell.

According to the State Oceanic Administration, around 27302 square kilometres of sea ice has formed on China's eastern Huanghai and Bohai Sea.

Some of China's northern regions are also in the grip of severe cold.

Minimum temperatures in the county of Mohe in Heilongjiang province and some parts of Inner Mongolia autonomous region have stayed below -40C for more than a week, according to China's meteorological authority.

And there we are worrying about a bit of snow and -10C...
