An 85-year-old woman caused rail delays as she drove 80 yards down train tracks after turning the wrong way at a level crossing.

The woman was driving towards Brockenhurst station in the New Forest, Hampshire, when she accidentally turned on to the track between Bournemouth and London Waterloo, according to the BBC.

The lady stopped her car and called for help, and she was treated for shock, along with her fellow passenger.

The incident caused delays on the route, and bus replacement services had to be set up.

Her car was removed by crane later on in the day.
