Interest rates aren't going anywhere for a while. Your standard variable rate probably looks pretty attractive at the moment, and why bother switching it when the latest economic news is so dire that we can expect rock bottom rates for a good while yet? There's nothing that could possibly tempt you to pay for a fixed rate mortgage.
