Racing-inspired brakes could shortly stop your little hatchback

A joint project between New York University (NYU-Poly) and a materials company called REL could mean that your little runabout is soon equipped with racing style brakes.

That's because academia and business have combined to create a ceramic fibre reinforced aluminium brake disc.
